Strategic Goals Highlights of 2010 Communicate the Benefits of TAHQ Membership Communicate the Organizational Culture Mission and Vision Statements have been placed on TAHQ brochures, letterhead, etc. Placed Strategic Plan Objectives and Goals on Web Site Continuation of Member Needs Assessment Continue exploring marketing and joint opportunities with other quality organizations and groups beyond the hospital setting TAHQ booth at NAHQ annual conference Members have the opportunity to hear from all Board Representative areas.

    5. Strategic Goals Highlights of 2010 Become a High Performing Organization Enhance Board Efficiencies Policies and Procedures for each board position Board Member Orientation checklists were finalized and incorporated into Board Member transition activities. Continuation of Board Self-Assessment Educate Board Members on Responsibilities Instituted a Board Member at Large position/SIGs Board Trained in IRS regulations pertaining to not for profits. President of Board participated in the 2nd Annual NAHQ Leadership Training TAHQ By-Laws Reviewed and Amended Schedule Developed for Ongoing Local Association and TAHQ Leadership Dialogue.

    10. 2010 Treasurer’s Report Executive Finance Committee Developed Developed a Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statement for review by Finance Committee. 2010 CPA Audit and IRS 990 complete Positive Cash Flow TAHQ Financial Statement are available upon request.

Communications Redesigned and Implemented New Website Continued with Improvements to the TAHQ E- Newsletter Standardized format Emailed to members More articles and information Improvements and additions to our website resulted in increase use and visibility New Initiative: Member Blog www.txquality.org 27,085 Unique Visitors to the web site from November 2009 thru October 14, 2010 193,403 Hits 112,762 Files sent to visitors

    14. Local Associations 5 active Local Chapters with 2 more interested in forming South West Association for Healthcare Quality became a new affiliate local chapter in August 2009 Local Association information is printed in the newsletter & is available on the web site

Donna Rossa Distinguished Service Award for 2010 Peter Rossa, Ph.D Presented on an annual basis to the TAHQ member who has demonstrated qualities of leadership and professionalism in the healthcare quality profession. The TAHQ Board may select a recipient as often as annually and may modify the title and the criteria for future awards. Criteria for Candidate Selection: At least 4 years of membership in TAHQ within the past 8 years and has not previously received this award, and Served either in a leadership position within TAHQ, or provided services for a project or special activity that benefited TAHQ members, and Has demonstrated commitment to improving healthcare quality in Texas in at least one of these areas: professional position; citizen; local, state, or national healthcare quality affiliations.

    19. NAHQ AWARD OF EXCELLENCE In 2010, TAHQ presented at NAHQ’s National Conference on the GOLD Award for Association Excellence. This award recognized the state association that provides value added membership services and benefits. It is intended to enhance the goals and objectives of NAHQ by promoting quality educational offerings and information through the affiliated organizations.

    21. Educational Grant Purpose Further TAHQ’s objective to strengthen the healthcare quality profession in Texas. Encourage TAHQ members to pursue learning in areas related to healthcare quality Provide an additional benefit to members, rewarding members for their continued allegiance to TAHQ 2009 Raffle amounted to over $1,000. Donated $538.00 to Healthcare Quality Foundation (NAHQ) Placed $568.00 into the TAHQ Educational Grant Fund Individual Contribution Opportunities through membership renewal, educational registrations and annual conference raffle
