  1. MEDUSA BY: KATIE B AND EMILY G PERIOD 1

  2. Medusa Medusa was an ugly creature. Medusa was the daughter of Phorkys and Keto. She was one of the three sisters known as the Gorgons. The other two sisters were Sthenno and Euryale. Medusa was the only mortal out of the three. She was originally a golden-haired and very beautiful girl, who, as a woman priest of Athena, was devoted to a life of celibacy. She forgot her pledge, and became united Poseidon in marriage.

  3. Medusa When medusa got married. She was punished in a horrible way. Every wavy piece of hair was changed into a vicious snake. Her eyes were changed into blood shot fierce eyes. She was originally had golden hair. And she was a very beautiful women. her skin was changed from white skin into a greenish color.

  4. Medusa When medusa saw a change in her self from beautiful to hideous. Medusa left her home. She wondered around, being ignored. She turned into a character as ugly as her. She fled to Africa, where she wondered snakes dropped from her hair, and according to the belief of ancient people. That country then became cursed with vicious snakes. With the curse of Athena on medusa who ever she looked at turned into stone

  5. Medusa The lesson we learned is that beauty can either be a gift or a curse, depending on how a beautiful woman behaves. Her beauty certainly got Medusa into trouble. The second lesson is that Medusa had more power as a ugly creature than she did as a woman. This is how she became known as a guardian especially for virgins. The curse of being able to turn men into stone proved to be a warning to all men who would force their unwanted attention on women.
