Realizing the Computing Curriculum • The CAS Computing Curriculum document sets out a vision for what could be taught • We are co-ordinating the process of gathering and developing materials and ideas that will inspire and empower teachers to deliver that curriculum, should they wish to do so
The Vision • Our aim is to provide example materials to support teachers • across the whole curriculum • at all Key Stages • working with pupils of all abilities • This is a BIG project, but we have to start somewhere
Where Shall We Start? • Map the Curriculum • Identify themes, topics, subject strands, illustrative problem domains • Collate Existing Resources • What resources do people already have? • When / how are they useful? • Relate Resources to Curriculum Map • Publish, get feedback, refine
The CAS Resources Working Group • We have gathered together a group of teachers and academics • This group will oversee the development of the curriculum map, and the collation and development of exemplar materials, lesson plans, schemes of work, and other resources
What Can You Contribute? • Most teachers have something that works really well with their students • It could be • an exercise sheet or a practical activity for use in a single class • a week’s work, with a homework assignment • a set of lesson plans, reading assignments, practical work and homework sheets for a block of 4 – 6 weeks worth of classes
