August 29, 2010. “God’s Timing”. Romans 5:1-11. I. Hope does not disappoint (1-5). We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God We have been justified through faith. We have peace with God through out Lord Jesus Christ. We rejoice in our sufferings There is a benefit to suffering.

  2. I. Hope does not disappoint (1-5) • We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God • We have been justified through faith. • We have peace with God through out Lord Jesus Christ. • We rejoice in our sufferings • There is a benefit to suffering

  3. The benefit to suffering… • Suffering produces perseverance • Perseverance produces character • Character produces hope

  5. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Hope does not disappoint (1-5) • We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God • We have been justified through faith. • We have peace with God through out Lord Jesus Christ. • We rejoice in our sufferings • There is a benefit to suffering • God poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit

  7. II. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (6-8) • He did this “at just the right time” • Christ died for us while we were still powerless • Christ died for us while were still sinners • God demonstrates His love to us through the death of Jesus Christ • John 3:16

  8. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (6-8) • He did this “at just the right time” • Christ died for us while we were still powerless • Christ died for us while were still sinners • God demonstrates His love to us through the death of Jesus Christ • John 3:16 • Christ died for the ungodly

  10. III. We have now received reconciliation (9-11) • We have been justified by His blood • We are saved from God’s wrath • We are saved through His life

  11. Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”

  12. Ephesians 1:19-20 “and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places.”

  13. Romans 8:34b “who is at the right hand of God, who is interceding for us.”

  14. III. We have now received reconciliation (9-11) • We have been justified by His blood • We are saved from God’s wrath • We are saved through His life • We rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ • Through whom we have been reconciled • This is great cause for celebration
