MAIN CONFERENCE PACKAGE Optional Pre Conference Tours Available 27th April 2010:  This morning, you will be picked up from your residence (ET 0330hrs & KQ 0500hrs) and transferred to JKI Airport for your scheduled flight to Addis Ababa. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and assisted to check in for the conference. Rest of the day spent at leisure spent with the option of taking a day tour.   10. PRE/ POST CONFERENCE TOURS • I. I ADADI MARIAM, MELKA KUNTURE & TIYA (Day Trip) • An excursion trip to Adadi Mariam, the  cave church is located about 90 km south of Addis Ababa, dating back to the Lalibela era. It is one of the holiest places in the region. The area has spectacular scenery , surrounded by beautiful hills. Proceed to Melka Kunture that lies near the Awash Gorge and archaeological site (dating back to over 1.5 million years old) is believed to be the home of Neolithic man. • Our final stop will be at Tiya, termed by UNESCO as a world Heritage site. Visit the peculiarly engraved stelae that are believed to have been erected between the 12th and 14th century. PRE/ POST CONFERENCE TOURS II.DEBRE LIBANOS & JEMMA RIVER GORGE (Day Trip) About 100 km north of Addis Ababa lies the 13th century monastery of Debre Libanos, which is an important monastic center for Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, the monastery was founded by the renowned 13th century mystic, Saint Tekle Haimanot. Here, visitors may combine history and culture with bird watching, as we drive through the Sululta Plain we can observe the Black-winged plovers, wattled Ibis, Blue-Winged geese, common Cranes and Wheat ears. Nearby, the picturesque Jemma gorge is famed for its 16th century bridge known as the Portuguese Bridge. Observe the environs, some birdlife and probably the endemic Gelada baboon. Drive back to Addis observing the scenery en route. III.WONCHI CRATER LAKE (Day Trip) Drive westward from Addis Ababa to Ambo 125 kms to the town of Ambo, the home of the very popular bottled Ambo Mineral Water.  Proceed to wonchi, and after your visit of the astonishing Lake Wonchi where visitors can observe the most spectacular sites in Ethiopia -verdant forests, a lake with islands, all within the crater. Visit and drive back to Addis.   13. I. Awassa  /1 night, 2 days/ Day 01:  You will be drive to Awassa an attractive town in a beautiful setting poised at the very edge of Lake Awassa. Visit the rich birdlife and panoramic view of the lake from the Tabor Hill. En route visit the Ziway and Koka. Overnight at the Awassa Wabi Shebele Hotel. Day 02:  Morning visit the fish market around the lake.  You will have your lunch at the Bekele Molla Hotel situated near the shore of Lake Langano. We drive back to Addis Visiting en route Lakes Abiyata and Shala. This Lakes are designated national parks, but this doesn't mean much in practice. Lake Abiyata is shallow, with heaps of birds, while Lake Shala sits at the bottom of a 250m (820ft) deep crater. Awash National Park  /1 night, 2 days/ • Day 01:  Drive south heading down the Rift Valley we turn east at Mojo for Awash and the Afar region.  We pass Lake Beseka and enter the Awash National Park. Observe the birdlife and some games like the Beisa Oryx.  Overnight at the Bilen Lodge, situated some 60km past the town of Awash. • Day 02:Morning, visit the environs of the Bilen Lodge and the Afar villages.  Outside the boundaries of the park, this area shares some variety of habitats for birds, wildlife, flowers and plants: the reverie forest by the Awash River, wetlands acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands, rocky hills, cliffs and escapements. Over 460 bird species have been recorded in this area.  You will also be able to observe a variety of animals. Visit and proceed to Addis. End of our service. TOUR OF HISTORIC ROUTE [ TWO NIGHTS AND THREE DAYS] • PACKAGE:- AXUM AND LALIBELA • DURATION:-2 NIGHTS AND 3 DAYS • MODE OF TRANSPORTATION:- BY AIR • Day 01: Addis – Axum • Fly to Axum. Once the center of a great • empire, and the seat of learning for the • ancient Ge'ez language and literature, • Axum is the prime historical site in the North • of Ethiopia. Take a city tour of Axum that includes; the Stelae Park, St. Mary's Church the Sanctuary Chapel which is the repository of the 'Ark of the Covenant', the Coronation Yard, Queen of Sheba's palace ruins, Axum Museum and the quarry where the stelaes used to be made.  Overnight at the Yeha/Remhai Hotel.

  16. Day 02: Axum – Lalibela • Be transferred to the airport for flight to Lalibela. Lalibela is the home of the most famous churches and the scene of so many major religious ceremonies. Visit of the magnificent rock hewn Churches of Lalibela which were hewn out of solid rock between 800 - 1200 AD and are still active worship places.  These Churches include Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Mariam, Bete Maskal, Bete Danaghel, Bete Golgotha & Bete Mikael, and Bete Giorgis.  Overnight at the Roha/Mountain View Hotel. • Day 03:Lalibela - Addis • This day you will be transferred to airport for your return flight to Addis. PACKAGE:- BAHIR DAR AND GONDAR • DURATION:-2 NIGHTS AND 3 DAYS • MODE OF TRANSPORTATION:- BY AIR • Day 01:Addis – Bahir Dar • Fly to Bahir Dar.  Be met and transferred to the Tana Hotel.  Later, we take a boat cruise on Lake Tana to visit the 13th century Monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret which is the most famous of the Zege peninsula monasteries with a very beautiful painted maqdas and priceless collection of crosses as well as crowns.  • Afternoon, you will drive to the village of Tis Isat to see the Blue Nile falls (please be informed that  due to the newly constructed electric dam in the vicinity the water level of the falls could be very minimal). Overnight at the Tana/Summer Land Hotel.

  18. Day 02: Bahir Dar – Gondar • This day, drive to Gondar through the spectacular route around Lake Tana. Gondar is a town founded in 1636 by the great Emperor Fassiladas, set in a landscape of incomparable beauty, it was the Royal Capital of Ethiopia.  Visit the Castles and Churches built by the Emperor and his descendants.  Later proceed to the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie Church (termed by UNESCO as one of the World's heritages) its walls and ceilings decorated with scenes of Biblical lore and medieval history.
