Outline of Project • Project created for English Language Learners for any grade • Learn basic school vocabulary to be able to communicate in the classroom • Project can be adapted for low level Kindergarten students or students with a learning disability • Created a generic template that can be changed for the needs of students or school • ELL School Tour
Group Work • After taking the tour match ELL student with native English speaking student to read a decodable book. • With a native speaker make a podcast introducing themselves to the class. • Have ELL student collaborate with ELL teacher to write the introduction

NC Standard Course of Study • This applies to all grade levels (k-5) because we all get new students who do not speak English. In order to teach them the content we have to teach them the language first.
