  2. Graffiti began in New York City in the 1960’s. But is graffiti art? -It’s bright and colorful. -It can display the artist’s feelings and opinions about the world. -It can brighten public spaces. The artist had permission to paint this graffiti.

  3. Most people believe graffiti is NOT art when it is painted on public property without permission. Then it is called vandalism and is against the law. Graffiti on subway trains is vandalism.

  4. Bubble letters are often used in graffiti art. This week we will write our names in bubble letters. Bright colors are very important!
