  6. LexiOrcutt, Shannon Calahan, Shelby Bunch RN Aaron Mendel – Out of State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants As an overall presentation, Aaron did some things better than others. His voice and text proved that he was well informed on his topic, as well as comfortable presenting in front of the class. However, He could have gone further with his visuals and statistics. Shelby Bunch commented that Aaron’s voice stating he had “nice voice projection and eye contact”. Aaron did a very good job at speaking clearly and looking at ease in front of the class. Aaron also did a good job with his text, Lexi thought “the text was clean and not overused”. One area that could have used work was his visuals. Shelby bunch noted that he needed “more visuals, and had too much white space”. His visuals where a little too bland, he could have given us something more to look at. He was also lacking in statistics, Shannon Calahan noted: “Mendel could have used more statistics to show the number of illegal immigrants receiving benefits”. Lastly, he was missing some pieces of information that injured his logic. Lexi wished that Aaron “would have specified that the ‘illegal citizens’ he was talking about where children, of illegal citizens, that where born in the U.S.” But perhaps the biggest problem was Aaron’s presentation was his timing. Shannon noted, “there was two minutes left when Aaron concluded his presentation.” Aaron should have spent more time practicing his timing, and perhaps could have gone into better detail to stretch out the length of the presentation. Lastly, Aaron was wearing casual clothing of jeans and a t-shirt; if Aaron would have dressed up a little more, it would have added to the professionalism of his presentation. As a whole, Aaron seemed to have good knowledge of his topic and seemed comfortable speaking in front of an audience. However, he could have done more preparation including better time management, clothing choice, and visuals. Smart & attentive to details: PLUSSES!
