The Kentucky Medicaid HIT Plan outlines the current state and future objectives for Health Information Technology (HIT) in Medicaid. It focuses on assessing the 'As-Is' HIT landscape and developing the 'To-Be' HIT landscape to enhance healthcare delivery. Key components include a development plan for the EHR incentive program, eligibility criteria for providers such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and hospitals, as well as the implementation of meaningful use measures. The RFP for this initiative was released on 5/25 with a closing date of 6/29.

National Level Repository • CMS proposed a national-level repository in order to accomplish three statutory goals: • Ensure that there is no duplication of payments between Medicare and Medicaid and between states; • Ensure accurate and timely payments; and • Allow Medicare to meet its mandate for online posting requirements.
The Medicaid EHR Incentive Timeline • 2011- 2021 • Providers cannot initiate after 2016 • Incentive amounts are linked to providers’ participation year, not the calendar year • No fee schedule reductions like Medicare • AIU in first participation year, MU in 2nd and subsequent years
