  1. Cricket

  2. The historyThe game cricket has been played since the 16th century. No one actually knows who created cricket, but evidence suggests that it was created during Saxon or Norman times. Since then it has been played and enjoyed all over the world.

  3. Why people play?People play for various reasons, some for money and some for enjoyment. People also play to either get healthy or stay healthy.

  4. PositionsLike football there are eleven players per team. Unlike football only one team (the fielders) have their whole team on the pitch at once. The other team have two batsmen, with the rest ready to come on (one at a time) when one of the batsmen gets out . The fielders have a bowler and a wicket keeper with the others dispersing themselves around the field in positions such as slip and out fielder etc.

  5. EquipmentThe batsmen have the most equipment with helmet, bat , leg pads , batting gloves and box. They can also have an optional arm guard and/or thigh pad. The other person who wears a lot of padding is the wicket keeper who has leg pads, wicket keeping gloves and sometimes a helmet. The only other things are the ball and wickets.

  6. Cricket phrasesCricket has practically got a language of its own and if you don’t know it, it will be quite confusing to watch. So here are some of them to make things easier. An over is when there has been six bowls. L.B.W is when someone bowls the ball and it hits the batsman's leg pad when it was going to hit the wickets. And the last one is a six which is when the batsman hits the ball and it go over the boundary on the full.

  7. The magic ballpeople are saying this is the bowl of the millennium by Shane Warne. Please enjoy
