  2. This is where Murcia is in Spain Murcia is a city in south-east Spain. It is the seventh largest city in Spain with a population of 442,573.

  4. Cathedral De Santa Maria In 1394 the construction of the Cathedral began, which should be completed in October 1467. Nevertheless the Cathedral continued to grow until the 18th Century. Which means that the Cathedral is made up of a variety of different styles, the interior is Gothic and the front is Baroque and was designed by the Valencian architect JaumeBortiMeliá. The Cathedral has 25 bells in it, all from the 17th and 18th Century each has its own name e.g The Bell of Spells, La Catalanaand AgredaMartillo which is the main bell.

  5. Romea Theatre Built by Manuel Molina in 1862 on part of the site of the former Santa Domingo Convent. Opened by Queen Isabel II. It had to be rebuilt by Justo Millan after two terrible fires in 1877 and 1899. It is named after the local famous actor Julian Romea as is the square it stands in.

  6. Mar Menor Mar Menor is a salty lagoon separated from the Mediterranean by La Manga a sand bar 22km long. The sea has a high salt content which aids floatation which makes it one of Europe’s most popular places for water sports.

  7. Real Casino De Murcia It first opened as a Gentlemen’s club in 1847 and restored to it’s original glory in 2009. It contains an English style library with over 20,000 books some dating from the 17th Century, a magnificent ballroom with glittering chandeliers, a billiard room and a ladies powder room with a ceiling of cherubs, angels and an alarming winged woman in flames.
