This study explores the production processes of cellular metals, focusing on both closed and open cell types. Utilizing Aluminum 6061, we discuss melting and foaming parameters, such as a melting temperature of 700°C for closed cells and 670°C for open cells, along with the required additives and stirring techniques. The properties of these cellular metals, including low density, high energy absorption, and soundproofing capabilities, highlight their applications in aerospace and automotive industries. Developed by Professor Heobo-young's team, these materials show promise in enhancing safety during car accidents.
