  2. TROLLS - DESCRIPTION • Some of the larger trolls overgrown forestwith age. Theylived in inaccessibleplacessuch as:forests, mountains and caves. Somealso lived atthe sea. They caused damage to bothhumans and animals. In this regard, they were quitesimilar to the orcs, but a lot of them werebigger, stronger and more aggressive. They alsoengaged in the exploration and collection of silver, gold and valuables. Trollswere very greedy and stingy. They couldnot stand sunlight, so one couldseethemonly at night. In sunlighttrollsturned to stones.

  3. THE ENCOUNTER WITH THREE TROLLS • In „Hobbit. There and backagain” Thorin and his men met threehugetrollsduringtheirjourney. One of them was the characterplayed by William Huggins.He isperhapsthe most important of the three trolls.Hikersstumbled upon himalmost at the very beginning of theiradventure. The other two comapnionsare William Bert and Tom.

  4. FEATURES OF TROLLS • Yet another feature of the trolls was theirmental sluggishness. You can see it best when scared Bilbo gets in their hands. The trio responded to himwith great curiosity.

  5. FEATURES OF TROLLS • Trolls also loved to bicker and fight among themselves. Thisfeatureiseasilyvisible in Hobbit. There and backagain.
