  2. Polynomial Max/Min. Applications • Your sweet, loveable grandma has asked you to help her create a garden bed for her flowers and vegetables. She would like to use the wall of her house as one side of the garden and to fence in the other three sides using 120 m of fencing. You know that your grandma wants her garden to have the biggest area possible so how much fencing should you use on each side? House Garden x

  4. Does it click yet??? • Shoe Carnival has found that they can save millions of dollars a year by minimizing the amount of cardboard they use to construct their shoe boxes. The company is considering using a sheet of cardboard with dimensions of 6in and 10in with a square cut out. However before Shoe Carnival purchases these in bulk, they want to know the maximum volume of such a box in order to figure out if the majority of their shoes will fit in it. What is the maximum volume and is this cost saving measure really going to be effective?
