  5. Caribbean Flamingo • Kingdom- animalia • Phylum- Chordata • Class- Aves • Order- Phoenicopteriformes • Family- Phoenicopteridae • Genus- Phoenicopterus • Species-Ruber

  6. Characteristics • Skeleton • Backbone • Warm blood • Feathers- all known birds have feathers, and no other known class of animal has feathers • Wings • Beaks or bills • No teeth • Lay eggs • Hollow bones to allow them to fly • 2 legs

Different Families • Accipitridae- • Includes birds of prey, such as haws and eagles • About 233 species recorded • Found on every different continent except Antarctica • Inhabit many different environments, especially forests and trees • Blend into their environment and have camouflage for hunting purposes • Some characteristics are talons, hooked beak, broad wings, very large wingspan, tails, very sharp eyesight
