  4. Hazing Hazing, sometimes thought of as harmless team-building, is actually very harmful -- both to the cadets involved and to the overall cohesion of the unit. Unit Commanders' Course

Hazing Definition of hazing • “Any conduct whereby someone causes another to suffer or be exposed to any activity that is cruel, abusive, humiliating, oppressive, demeaning, or harmful.” • Actual or implied consent to hazing does not make it permissible. • Examples/Nonexamples Unit Commanders' Course

  6. Hazing Civil Air Patrol hazing policy • Civil Air Patrol will not condone or tolerate hazing. • CAP treats hazing as a form of physical abuse under the Cadet Protection Policy. Unit Commanders' Course

  7. Hazing CAP reporting procedures • Members who believe they have been hazed may file a complaint IAW CAPR 123-2, Complaints. • Unit commanders who learn of or suspect hazing has taken place will notify their wing commander. Unit Commanders' Course

  8. Hazing CAP reporting procedures • The wing commander will consult with the wing legal officer before starting an investigation. • If physical injury is involved, also follow reporting procedures outlined in CAPR 62-2, Mishap Reporting and Investigation. Unit Commanders' Course
