  1. Tips How Best To Taste Wine

  2. Choose the right wine glasses Right glasses are important for wine tasting. Improperly selected ones can prevent the flavor and taste from revealing itself. Use a classic tulip-shaped wine glass. Of course, the glasses should be clean and dry.

  3. Fill the glass with wine correctly The glass should be filled to 1/3. If there are several different wines in your degustation plan, it's better to start with less strong ones and gradually move on to stronger varieties. So, light wines are pink and white. The heavier ones are red wines. After each glass of wine, drink a sip of water. This will help refresh the taste buds.

  4. Evaluate the drink visually To evaluate the wine visually, the glass should be brought to eye level. First, we need to evaluate the transparency and color of the drink. Quality wine should not have divorces and opacities. As for color, it's best to look at it against the background of something white, for example, a sheet of paper. As a rule, aged wines have a darker color.

  5. Learn to catch the scent of wine Connect your sense of smell. Aroma is an important characteristic of the drink, which can give a lot of information about sort of wine. There are three basic flavors of aroma that can be inherent in quality wine: floral (rose, elderberry), fruit (lemon, peach, pineapple) and spicy (iris, vanilla, tobacco).

  6. Feel the taste First you should drink a small sip of wine. Try to determine what taste you feel: sweet, sour, tart. Then you can slightly open your lips and exhale. On the second sip of wine tasting, focus on your feelings more seriously. Warming up in the mouth, wine emits aromatic substances and vapors, which allows you to better understand the consistency, acidity, taste of the drink.
