This document outlines the Automated Gate Messaging system, specifically CUSRES 40 and 41, designed for electronic manifests submitted to the MPR (Manifest Processing) system. It details the processes that trigger messaging to carriers and LRN declarants based on the arrival of goods. CUSRES 40 sends messages when an arrival is confirmed, while CUSRES 41 notifies about exits at land border posts associated with electronic manifests. This system enhances cargo processing confirmation and allows declarants to effectively manage their liabilities and payments.

Automated Gate Messaging – CUSRES 40 & 41 • SCOPE • Electronic gate messaging only available in respect of electronic manifests submitted to the MPR (Manifest Processing) system. • Single message to carrier; individual messages to LRN declarants. • CUSRES 40 • Sent when the arrival message from Service Manager occurs, provided there are no “parked” CUSRES messages (1/2/3/4/5 etc). • For example: Transit goods and goods cleared for export out of a warehouse. • CUSRES 41 • Any exit from a Land border post in respect of which an electronic manifest exists will cause a CUSRES 41 to be transmitted.
Automated Gate Messaging – CUSRES 40 & 41 • RESULT • Confirmation now available that cargo has in fact been processed across the border on the basis of the electronic manifest submitted to MPR. • Individual declarants can now also better manage their liabilities, pay their service providers, etc.
