  1. District : FROZEN

  2. THE LINE – YOU JUST MOVED INTO A NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD AND YOU HEAR THE MUSIC OF AN ICECREAM TRUCK COMING DOWN THE STREET, AS YOU WALK OUTSIDE YOU NOTICE ALL THE NEIGHBOURS RUSHING INSIDE AND LOCKING ALL THEIR DOORS AND WINDOWS.

  3. idea • This could be the idea an establishing shot – possibly foreshadow or hints to the future.  • WHY SO CHEAP?

  4. Connotations....

  5. Influences... • Birdbox I think relatively relates to the idea of something or someone taking away any sense of self control. • BY Josh Malerman

  6. Influences... • Vivarium...  • Vivarium is about... A young couple looking for the perfect home find themselves trapped in a mysterious labyrinth-like neighborhood of identical houses.

  7. Text used throughout the powerpoint • Boxes still surround us in our new house, cloth covers the furniture – yet as I look around the barren rooms, I have the sensation of a home. I gaze out the window and smile to myself, faintly, I hear the birds sing, the trees sway slowly, dancing to the breeze's rhythm. My new neighbours surround us, doing their daily tasks. I see an elderly woman watering her plants, her garden blossoming and thriving in the march season. I see what seems to be a mother and her two children, a boy and girl, walking their dog, its golden fur glowing in the sun. All around me, the houses have their windows and doors open – authorizing the aroma of the musky floral scent the spring season brings to fill their homes, covering every corner. The faint sound of an ice cream truck catches my attention, as it approaches the sound fills the neighbourhood – I don’t see the truck yet but I imagine it as I stand in my new home and envision all the possibilities this home will bring to me. I close my eyes, the well known and loved tune continues to grow closer and I close my eyes and visualise. The truck is pink, white and blue, the icon of an ice cream man is printed on it. Kids from all around the village run towards the sound as if it were a magnet, their excitement reflecting through the grins on their faces – is this what my life will now be like? I truly hope so. Opening my eyes, I walk outside to watch the swarm encircle the truck. Instead, I see fear. The elderly women has dropped the hose, the water still running and has stirred inside, the family with the golden dog are speed walking in the opposite direction of the truck, the pace almost a run as the dogs barks echo throughout the entirety of the road – still the bright sound of the ice cream truck overpowers it. I hear locks click throughout the area – the windows closed and blinds pulled, blocking the sweet scent of the air, but also the sound. So abrupt? Why? Fear encapsulates my whole body as I feel a shudder crawl up my spine as I see the vehicle that emulates the childhood song. That is no ice cream truck.

  8. Text used throughout the powerpoint • Outline of the whole film – A dystopian world – either, the truck is a ‘garbage truck’ yet the rubbish it collects is humans OR  the sound of the music hypnotises you to do what those who made the vehicle want. One protagonist - loses those she loves to the truck. Wants to figure out how to stop this.  • How I would direct this rundown- opening shot is a establishing shot of the house that has been moved into from the outside, a SALE sign is outside and seen being taken down  • This is a thriller that I believe will keep the audience on the edge of their sheets, the link between a populate and well known sound (ict) being turned into what keeps doors locked and the civilians in a constant state of fear contrasting to its original loved purpose creates an idea that this could both be a psychological thriller… or so much more. The ice cream truck connotes to the time being modern and a sense of innocence as it mostly links to children and possible through sensory ways allows the viewer to link the idea to a good memory. The thriller follows the protagonist and her journey to locate and solve why, in this neighbourhood, panic and dread controls the society.  • As the piece continues, she realise the truck comes at the same time everyday, creating an almost type of forced routine, the protagonist realised that if she were to hear the music for a long amount of time, her sense of herself and control leaves. She quickly becomes part of the routine of locking the doors, earplugs placed in, and adrenaline pumping through her vains. • Overall, the film ends with the solving of the mystery as to why this truck leads the society • Notes- high key lighting to highlight a new beginning and,  • Characters introduced – not relevant for the rest of the story  • Casting – older woman : louiseenglish department, a female protagonist,  • What we need – editing changing the colouring of the water, dog,
