TG 5 – Scope of Work & Participation • Scope of Work – Develop concept definitions for the discipline-specific (i.e. OH&S) terms used in ISO 45001 • TG 5 Participants – Participants represented the following member body countries and liaisons – Canada, China, Colombia, Finland, France, ILO, IOSH, ITUC, Morocco, US • This was the first in-person meeting for TG5

Policy / OH&S Policy • Policy – the intentions and directions of the organization, as formally expressed by its top management • (Annex SL Definition) • OH&S policy • policy(3.xx) to prevent work-related injury and ill health to worker(s) (3.xx) and to provide a safe and healthy workplace(s)(3.xx)

Management System / OHSMS • Management System– set of interrelated or interacting elements of an organization to establish policies and objectives and processes to achieve those objectives • (Annex SL Definition) • OH&S Management System • part of the management system (3.04) used to achieve the OH&S policy (3.07A) • Note 1 to entry: The overall objective of the OH&S management system is to prevent injury or ill health arising out of, linked with or occurring in the course of work.

Worker / Workplace • Worker – Person performing work or work-related activities, regularly or temporarily, under the direct or indirect control of the organization (3.xx) • Note 1 to entry - The OH&S management system applies to workers both when they are in a workplace and when they are performing work or work-related activities outside of a workplace. • Workplace - Place under the direct or indirect control of the organization (3.xx) where a person(s) needs to be or to go by reason of their work • Note 1 to entry - The OH&S management system applies to persons performing work or work-related activities in the workplace.

Plan Going Forward – Work Still to Do for TG5 • Finish Draft Text for Section 3 – there will be only 1 definition per term • Finalize the Resolution of the Comments on WD1 • Consider the Need for Annex Guidance on Section 3 – Proposed by the U.S. In our comments • Continue Review of the Proposed CD Text for Consistency in Using the Terms Defined by TG5
