  1. Wireless and Mobile Multimedia Networks Project #1 – NS-2: Multimedia Streams over WiMAX (20%) • As shown in the above figure, use NS-2 simulator to set up an MPEG video server, a video receiver, and a background traffic generator on a WiMAX network. Configure the bandwidth of WiMAX, uplink and downlink, to be 10 Mbps, respectively. • Note that your have to install an NS-2 version such that it may come with MPEG, RTP/UDP, and WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) modules. • Generate three MPEG streams, each with bit rate of 1 Mbps (10 FPS), 3 Mbps (20 FPS), and 5 Mbps (30 FPS) from the video server to the video receiver. • Allocate UGS, rtPS. and nrtPS queues for the three MPEG streams, respectively, and Best-Effort queue for the background traffic. 2. 5. (50%) Performance evaluation • (20%) Count how many I-frames, P-frames, and B-frames, and how many IP packets of each frame type received at the video receiver for the three MPEG streams, respectively. • (20%) Measure the average packet transmission delay of the three MPEG streams, respectively, when background traffic is varied between 1 Mbps and 5 Mbps, respectively. • (10%) Extract RTP timestamps from every IP packet and make a table for 0.5 second for the three MPEG streams. Observe the time differences among each frame type for the three streams. 6. (50%) Discussions in the Report (1) (30%) Discuss the relationship between the number of I-frames, P-frames, and B-frames received versus the background traffic (1 Mbps and 5 Mbps) for the three MPEG streams, respectively.Do the same discussions on the average packet transmission delay. (2) (20%) Use mathematical calculations to compute the number of I-frames, P-frames, and B-frames received and the average packet transmission delay consumed. Compare the calculation results with your simulation results. Are these numbers close? If not, Identify those factors that may create the differences. Due Day:Demo (50%): on May 1, 2, 3, 2014. Report (50%): minimum of 15 pages due before 9:00pm on May 5, 2014.
