  1. Immersion Reflection Paper A recent experience of mine that has made a significant impact on who I am today would be my joining of open immersion. Immersion has always been a tradition of my school, Assumption College, for many years. This became one of many reasons why I decided that I'd like to take part of this tradition before I graduate and leave my more than a decade–long alma mater. I also chose to volunteer because I saw this as a good opportunity to render community service and fulfill my social responsibility as a student in the Assumption community. However, I had underestimated how this journey would impact my own identity. I entered this odyssey without much prior knowledge on what would happen and what exactly we would be doing. The immersion took place in the small community in Barrio Obrero, Iloilo. Our volunteer group, consisting of only five high school students and a couple of teacher–chaperones, was based in a public learning center called the Assumption Socio–Educational Center (ASEC), which was founded by the Assumption community many years ago. Our first activity during our immersion was...show more content... One of our assigned tasks was to repaint the playground. Our first thoughts were that this would be easy and even fun to do, but we were quickly proven wrong. It was difficult to repaint the playground under the scorching sun, and the paint fumes were also a factor that made this hard for us. But after we've done our part for this task, we were assigned to help out in the school's bookstore, wherein we covered notebooks in plastic wrap. It seemed to be a menial task, but it was an enjoyable afternoon. We were able to interact with the bookstore workers there and learn more about the community while we did the task. The workers, like many of the other members of their community, lived very simple lives, and yet seemed to be happy and content with what they have and what they ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  2. Reflection Paper On Marketing At the beginning of this class, my main objective was to learn more about finance and learn about marketing. When I first review the class's syllabus, I thought this class would be mainly about marketing and investments, but I was glad to find out that the class was about more than just marketing. I would definitely say that I met my objectives and even more because I learned more than I was expecting. This class helped developed a security about a business idea that was on my mind for years which is having my own private investigations company. Before this class, the idea of owning a company about something that I am very passionate about was only just an idea and I never thought I could have been developed a possible marketing plan. Thanks to this class, I was able to work on a marketing plan for my dream company. Even though some assignments were difficult, I felt that no one could have taken the excitement I felt every single time I sat down to work on my own business marketing plan. It is important to mention that my feelings about this great experience are truthful. I understand that some people might say that most students are not truthful when given feedback about the class or the professor because they fear retaliation, but I am very happy to say this is not the case for me. I am a very truthful person and I say it how it is, I am not the type of student that would write something nice to make the professor feel better or to avoid a low grade, I just ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Student Reflection Essay I didn't know what to expect on my first day of English 202. I had no idea what English 202 meant or what exactly I would be doing in the class. I quickly learned and began to understand what being an English major was all about. In my fall English 202 class, I did well with inward–looking theories and discovered that was my preferred way to approach a literary text, though I still enjoyed some out looking theories like psychoanalytic. Going forward in my major I would like to work on my time management skills and applying the notes from the professor and TA to my paper. The theory that I found worked for me the best was the discourse analysis theory. When I first heard about this theory I didn't think it would work for me because I never felt like grammar was one of my strong suits. Though when we started learning more about the theory I began to understand it more. The part of the theory I enjoyed the most was that I didn't have to look for outside sources when reading the poem. All of the information I needed was already there in the text. Some people find this constraining, but I like that the only thing we have to work with is the poem itself. Another thing I enjoyed about this theory was that it felt like the information you were using was more concrete because it was right there in the poem. What I mean by that is with outward theories it felt like everything was very abstract and up for interpretation. I like that with inward theories everything is a ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. Essay On Academic Reflection Education is ingrained in our lives; we are as a society born to learn. The ability to reflect on this habitual learning is what separates an honors mindset from the average. Reflection occurs continuously and effortlessly, as though peering into a looking glass. I reflect in order to increase my potential as a learner and become an honors student. Evaluating my past, present, and future education ultimately will unlock my fullest potential for true academic reflection. My past education experience, defined as, elementary through high school, was filled with opportunities of growth and promises of success. From elementary to middle school, I was led by a spark to learn. I wanted to accomplish many tasks, wanted to learn as much and as deeply as I could, I wanted to succeed with hard work. At this age level, I was displaying a growth mindset, and many key characteristics of Angela Maiers' habitudes. The most prominent example of this display was my eighth–grade year as it was the first time I ever truly struggled academically in my life. I was in my eight–grade math class with Mr. Pfitzner, at the time the bane of my existence, and I did not understand a thing. It seemed like all my hard work was for nothing, that I would never be able to overcome this obstacle. For a moment, I was able to see how easily a slip from a growth mindset to a fixed mindset could be. As I slowly slipped into the fixed mindset, I remember asking myself if this is how I want to learn. This challenge ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  5. My Reflection Of Art Art has been something that I have always enjoyed. Whether it be actually creating my own pieces or admiring pieces from local artist, it has been a passion of mine very early on in my life. Now before taking Art 102 I never really attempted to dive in deep to the pieces I was admiring; I never really "decoded" any of the pieces, really. Instead, I would simply snap a quick photo, add a dark filter that really made the reds stand out, and write a witty quote. This has been my cycle when walking into any exhibit for the past years; find the most visually appealing work of art and spend more time on posting the piece on social media than actually interpreting what the artist was trying to portray. Going through the semester I have learned...show more content... Charles Graner and his team are the ones responsible for such actions and are responsible for the photo. When Graner and his team were exposed by Joe Derby, the entire world took note and there was not only outrage on Graner's part but on Derby as well for betraying his fellow American military. Copper Greene not only borrows the photo but iPod billboard as well and in a sense does a spin off creating his unique piece with his own message. The reason why we as individuals are able to make the connection of Greene's piece to Apple's advertisement is because the idea of signifier and signified. Where in this case the we take the signifier which is the bright loud colors with the a dark figure used in Greene's work and we translate that to the signified; which is apple products. In short, bright loud colors with dark figure equals apple products. Greene also uses bricoloage to create a sense of representation as he is using his platform to highlight the real world and those real issues. In this case, that being of American Military personal using strong forms of interrogation. Looking at the piece closer and decoding what the white headphones truly mean, we can conclude that those headphones not only serves as electrical wires used for torture but too Americans use those some head phones to shut out the outside world and any real problems, isolating themselves to their tunes and their own problems. 6. Reflection On Experience In Reading And Writing Reflective Essay As far as writing is concerned, it has never been a greater pleasure of mine than to write about something. This semester has provided me with a bundle of opportunities to write about a plethora of topics which I would not even have considered on second thoughts otherwise. The aim of this reflective essay is to discuss my Literacy Narrative "Experience in Reading and Writing". I decided to reflect on this essay as it shows my learning path of the English language. This reflection will analyze the learning process I went through and how it was applied. The process of learning a language is to be able to understand, read, write and speak it effectively in order to enable communication. I will also discuss the obstacles that I faced and how I came through from it with proper guidance. The essay is to reflect on my role as a student, guided by peers and guides in search of verbosity. Moreover, the essay is proof of how far I have come from having ideas all over the place and not making sense. This essay shows that I can frame my thought coherently and provide a central topic around which everything could be related to. I believe that the essay would be inspiring and can help others understand that language is no barrier if you work on it and shall become one of the most important tools in life. Most of the time when I plan on learning something, it so happens that I cannot focus on one single idea or be able to link a group of ideas together. This has for most parts prevented me from taking an initiative to write about it. Writing something proved challenging as whatever I wrote had to be structurally and grammatically correct. Consequently, the pressure of managing these problems made it difficult to have a meaningful subject that could be rhetorically satisfactory. This essay introduces the issue initially as tries to put in the factors that were responsible for it. The primary audience for this essay would be myself and my instructor, so the main aim was to understand my own triumphs and tribulations this semester. While it is true that others might read this essay, I decided to write on an issue that everyone would have experienced. For this reason, I decided to write about learning a ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  7. Speech Reflection Essay During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something. The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to effectively communicate my message to my audience. Based off of all of my reflection sheets, video evaluations, and peer critiques I have improved over the course of the semester. At the beginning of the semester I had a problem with speed and using to many "filler" words. As the year progressed, my speed became more and more controllable and I used less and less filler words. After my most recent speech, I'm still not quite at the level I want to be at, but I am far better than I was at the very beginning. I think just speaking in front of people more than I am used to doing has helped me develop better speaking skills and grow in my ability to effectively communicate with others. Throughout the semester I learned a lot about speaking, performing, and ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  8. Reflection Of A Mirror Where does one see the most real physical you? The best example I could find is a mirror, and your reflection. The reflection in a mirror changes the instant life does, it blinks so fast that you can't catch it, it stares only when you look at it, and turns its back on you the moment you do. The mirror only holds life when someone stands before it, without oneself it serves no purpose, its one and only purpose was to tell you, through reflection, what you look like. Without having the little lies or falsehoods that those nearest you tend to tell you about the way you look. These falsehoods are often caught, and brought to reality by painters and other reflective surfaces. Whilst they may be true to the artist or surface, they are not accurate,...show more content... When we look at ourselves in the mirror we must be critical, we must look at ourselves as if it is not we who is looking back, because we lie to ourselves as well, and sometimes the truth, although unpleasant might be the only thing to set us back on the right path. "[A] sort of dehiscence opens my body in two, and because between my body looked at and my body looking, my body touched and my body touching, there is overlapping or encroachment, so that we may say that the things pass into us as well as we into the things." (Merleau–Ponty 1964/1969: 123) It is therefore when we look at ourselves without preconceived notions, or small, little euphemisms, that we learn the most about who we really are. The mirror can reveal so much of our lives, it can tell you everything that you allow yourself to listen to, it can tell you about the reason there is sadness or fear in your eyes, or why your skin is rough and full of calluses. Our bodies are our physical vessels; they merely hold and protect our minds. However, the way in which you treat your body changes the relationship between the body and the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  9. Reflection In English 101 Whitney Bailey Professor Johnson English 101 October 19, 2016 Reflection Paper It's hard to believe that it's already time for Midterms in my English 101 class. The adventure has been a lot easier than I at first anticipated. In any case, I am happy that I am taking the class and learning from it. In the beginning it appeared somewhat hard however I was resolved to compel my way through this class regardless of what difficulties I needed to persevere. On the first day of my English 101 class I was apprehensive, I had no clue what's in store from the class. As I discovered what the class would have been similar to, I let myself know I was going to attempt to get an B or higher toward the end of the semester and put all the exertion I had into each paper I kept in touch with, I was not going to set this class aside for later and linger like I use to do. A standout amongst the most troublesome...show more content... I have an unmistakable view in my head of what I am going to compose and what structures I have to utilize. Things have ended up less difficult now since I don't need to experience the battle of how things are done or on the chance that I don't understand how I should do what I am expected to do. These aptitudes may empower me to enjoy additionally composing and not need to stress over having a written assignment. This course has helped me with many chances to figure out how to properly write papers. Prior to this class, I had little experience with how to build a legitimate paper. It has taken experience, and getting normal evaluations, to show me how to precisely write. Despite the fact that this course required different papers to be turned in, I am appreciative to have possessed the capacity to gain from my oversights and develop as a writer. I have constantly cherished written work, however now I am ready to improve my writing as the semester ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  10. Reflection On Empathy The introduction and initial contact when really well. The client as well as I were truly engaged in every statement or question. Of courses the first few minutes were a little rough but once I understood where she was trying to go with her situation it was fine. I ask the client if I could record her so that I could make sure I do not miss anything for the assignment and she allowed me to record the session. This was very helpful because the session was very informative, so with that much information I probably wouldn't have been able to retain everything. My level of empathy was very high. I actually related to her situation when it comes to a father leaving the family and there's very little that you can do. Knowing that I understood her struggles and feelings, I immediately told myself to be strictly professional and not to get emotional as well. There was an over use of probing questions and not enough empathic responses. I think this goes back to me trying not to get emotional as well while discussing similar issues. Examples: 1. Student: Do you think just letting it go will fix the issue? (+Probing question) 2. Student: When you say us are you talking about you and your mom? Or do you have any siblings? (+ Question probe) 3. Student: Can you elaborate a little more? (+ Question probe) 4. Student: You feel this way because? (+ use of a probe) Overall, I do believe I stayed much focused. We were stationed in the lounge of her dorm early that morning, so it was very ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  11. Self Reflection On Entrepreneurship In this assignment I aim to self–reflect on my personal entrepreneurial skill. According to the Cambridge dictionary self–reflection is 'the activity of thinking about your own feelings and behaviour, and the reasons that may lie behind them'. Self–reflection is a crucial part of development, one of the reasons for this is because self–reflection enables you to review yourself. It then becomes easier for you to evaluate your performance, this can be used to make improvements for the future. Entrepreneurship The Oxford dictionary define entrepreneurship as 'The activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.' An Entrepreneur consists of an individual who is both creative and innovative; I believe an entrepreneur is an open–minded individual; this enables them to think of creative thoughts and ideas that they can use to set–up their own business/businesses. In order to put these creative thoughts and ideas to good use they also need to be innovative. The 'Business Dictionary' states that Entrepreneurship is 'The capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit.' This supports the fact that as an entrepreneur you need to be willing to take calculated risks, with the aim of prospering and therefore meeting aims and objectives. An entrepreneur needs to be able to handle taking a loss; an entrepreneur would usually learn from this to enhance their skills so that less mistakes occur in the future. Self–Reflection is crucial for development (Kolb, 1984) In my previous education institution, a reflection was undertaken in teamworking. We worked as a team and set–up a project for a talent show. After we accomplished this we handed out questionnaires to our audience (to gather feedback on how we performed); we were then able to use the distributed questionnaire to gather more knowledge and understanding on various methods that we could improve for the future. Hobbs and Kolb are authors who have a strong belief in reflecting on your work. As an entrepreneur this is crucial as it enables you to find any errors that you may have made to then rectify them. An example of this is when I ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  12. A Writer's Reflection Essay English is a hard language to learn, for there are numerous elements of effective usage and writing. Many people, including me, struggle in writing because of a lack of knowledge. Since middle school, English was not a strong suit of mine. I struggled with the simplest of tasks often taking a considerably longer time to complete a task than the other students. Unmotivated teachers and a lack of interest resulted in remedial writing skills. To put it simply, I had little confidence in my writing and I dreaded taking the class because of the writing involved. In spite of my fears, I took the course and I was able to perfect and challenge my mediocre writing skills. With the professors' assistance, I was able to identify the meager...show more content... An aspect that I often struggle with is proper punctuation. Truthfully, I do not know how to correctly use punctuation. When writing, I place punctuation by mimicking authors' formats or by placing them where it feels right. This is present in all of my writing, but I am attempting to improve. Punctuation also plays a part in another weakness of mine, one that is most likely present within this essay. Since middle school, it was engrained in my mind that a good essay is a long essay, so I have a tendency for wordiness. To elongate an essay, I tend to add needless words and sentences. For example, in the rough draft of the Whole Process Essay, I added several unrelated occurrences to elongate the paragraphs. Although my essays were long and wordy, the professor commented on vagueness and unclearness within the whole process and practice essay. Sometimes, I disregard the fact that the reader might not know what it is I am writing about or the sentence makes perfect sense to me. The latter is the most common, I quickly read the sentence and it appears fine to me. Within the Whole Process Essay, another weakness was brought to my attention. I lack structure, a key element in effective writing. Within the same essay and a few others, I simply added what felt right, sometimes the result would be acceptable but in other instances, it was a long, jumbled mess. Once these weaknesses were revealed, I worked on improving my current works. There were several elements I had ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  13. Personal Reflection On Group Work Personal Reflection "Group work is a form of voluntary association of members benefiting from cooperative learning that enhances the total output of the activity than when done individually". Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not always agree which one another. Throughout the various task I played the communicator. I made sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas from one another and making it into one. My feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don't overthink everything. The things I will have done differently in the group was to use my time wisely. I believe because we were on a time frame, I tended to rush things just to say okay where done. Also, more support and trust at a point of time I was kind of second guessing another idea. I feel that you have to have trust in your group member to make it effective. Group Dynamics "Social integration can be seen as a dynamic and structured process in which all ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  14. Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfect essay, story, letter, and assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me improve. Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point. Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was one of the easiest things about writing the essay. Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  15. The Importance Of Reflection The aim of this essay is to highlight the importance of reflection. Initially by breaking down individual skills including curriculum vitae (CV) writing, book and journal evaluation and self– evaluation through sources such as the initial skills identification tasks and evaluation workbook (InSITE). Reflective practice is imperative in order to bridge a gap between theory and practice ensuring that one lends itself to the other and an understanding is creating rather than simply a motor pattern, (Jasper 2013). Through reflection it has become clear that a CV should follow a set foundation however be tailored to a specific job specification (Bright and Earl 2010). Monster (2017) describes a CV as a summary of one's career history, personal skills, hobbies and interests. A view supported by (Innes 2012) who also highlights the importance of presentation as well as content. Presentation is a key aspect of CV writing due to the limited time employers will spend deliberating over it, an argument confirmed by (Bright and Earl 2010). Whilst presentation is an important part of a CV it is vital that content is as meaningful as it is well presented. A CV is much an advertisement as it is an application, the sole purpose although to inform is to convince the reader of their suitability for the role (Bright and Earl 2010). Persuasive language therefore is as important as informative language. Schmidt and Kess (1986) describes the recipient of the persuasion as an important part of his own involvement in the persuasive process. With this in mind it can be concluded that whilst presentation is key within the first thirty seconds of receiving the CV (Innes 2012) and persuasive language is also useful it ultimately comes down to content. Collecting information from various sources during the CV evaluation eluded to the need to ensure that the sources were credible and reliable. The book which will be evaluated in this essay is Acute Cardiac Care: A Practical Guide for Nurses Kucia and Quinn (2010) (Appendix, A) alongside the journal Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) Hunter (2012) (Appendix, B). Phillipe and Dellavelade (2014) indicate the importance of information evaluation by stating that information which may be ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  16. HS933 OSCE Critical Reflection The following is a critical reflection of my performance during an objective structured clinical exam (OSCE), as part of my training for the role of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). An OCSE is an assessment technique whereby a student demonstrates their competence under simulated conditions (Fidment 2012). For this OSCE, my competence in undertaking a treatment session with a patient was under examination. The treatment session I undertook involved discussing the patient's progress with behavioural activation (BA), a cognitive–behavioural intervention used for people experiencing depression (Richards and Whyte 2011). When people become depressed, they experience a lack of motivation and energy, which can result in them cutting back on activities, neglecting daily responsibilities and leaving decision– making to others (CCI 2003). Avoiding activities gives the person short–term relief, because they haven't had to face up to their responsibilities. Unfortunately, long–term, the list piles up and instead of completing the tasks; they think about everything they haven't done (CCI 2003). They start to feel overwhelmed and guilty that they are inactive, which worsens the depression. Reduced activity levels and behaviours are detrimental to a person's wellbeing because they become even less motivated, more lethargic and miss out on positive experiences (CCI 2003). Behavioural Activation aims to break this cycle of negative reinforcement, ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  17. Speech Reflection The midpoint of the semester arrived in parallel to the time we presented our informative speeches. I have learned a lot of information about improving my communication skills since the first day of class. So, with that being said there was many things about this that speech that I think I improved on since the first speech. On the other hand, we were only halfway through the semester when I presented this speech so there are still many things I hope to improve on. Reflecting on these two facets will hopefully contribute to the advancement of my public speaking skills. There were many aspects of my speech I feel I have improved on or just did well on overall. For one, my eye contact. In my first speech my eye contact was ok consistency–wise. However, it did not extend to the whole audience range. While presenting my informative speech I remembered this struggle from my introduction speech. With this in mind I actively reminded myself to scan the whole class room, not just the middle. As for the eye contact consistency for this speech I also felt I did a decent job. I would say my eye contact to looking at notes ratio was at least an 8:2. I owe this to practicing. If I had not have practiced I would have needed to look at my notes a lot more. Hopefully I can eventually get this ration up to the perfect 9:1 I was aiming for. Bearing this in mind, I hope I will utilize this insight and remember to practice for my upcoming speeches. Another detail I think I did good on was ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  18. Example Of Reflection In Literature In the span of this course, I have learned a great deal about myself in terms of literature. This course has enabled me to make many great strides in my writing by exemplifying the works of authors and their literary devices. English 1102 has broadened my literary horizon by showing me more elegant ways to express my opinion. I am remorseful towards the fact that I did not take the class in person. Inversely, I have learned better ways to communicate towards the audience, through the use of various literary elements in lieu of going on tangents. In regards to taking English 1102, I feel as though I am on the precipitous of progress through the use of parallel structure and diction as a way of getting my point across, as well as using poetic styles from famous authors such as Charlotte Gilman to better express my thoughts and ideas. On the other hand, not being able to take the class in person has disabled me in a sense of not being able to garner a better sense of grammar and punctuation. Furthermore, through the assignments that I have completed, I have mastered the use of consistency which spurred on a more fluid line of communication with the readers through the use of efficiently utilizing parallel structure and diction, instead of jumping from topic to topic. The need to spew all perspectives originates from my predisposition of compacting conflicting opinions on one paper. Notably, employing parallel structure has brightened up my writing tremendously. For example, ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  19. Reflection On My Writing Skills Reflection My writing skills which I have worked on over the few months I have been in English 102 have changed quite a bit in my opinion. There are many things which I have improved upon that were amongst my weaker writing skills when the year began. On the opposite side of that point, there are also many things which I still need to improve upon if I want to truly elevate my writing to a level that I will be confident in. Finally, I have gained new skills outside of writing from this class, particularly the activities which we did in class at various points throughout the year. These things all cumulate together to give me an appreciation of English courses which I did not previously have. Throughout this semester there are many skills that I have noticed have improved through the constant writing of essays for this class. The one that I find most noticeable is a habit I had long struggled with which was essentially my tendency to be over necessarily wordy when writing my essays. I believe that I was able to somewhat fix this subconsciously, just by knowing that I was no longer in high school, and could no longer get by with just attempting to fill up my word count. I also believe I have greatly improved in my topic selection. In high school I would throw caution to the wind and just pick whatever topic came to mind just in an effort to get it done. I have been much more calculated in college, and I believe that it has helped me write better essays. While these were the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...
