  1. Tips for being an amazing writer!

  2. In exactly 80 words … • Lena, Irini, Fin, Alex, Ilayda, Charlotte and Karin entered a competition to write a story in exactly 80 words, quite a tricky task!! • Read about their experiences…

  3. It was a hard process trying to make a story that was exactly 80 words. Making the story was quite hard, because I had to come up with a short story that was interesting and exciting, but I had to cut to the point and make every word count. And then I typed it up on a computer, and I had about 64 words, so I was really pleased with myself, and a bit annoyed. I got up to 80 words because I added in vivid description and explained more about the characters. Fin 80 Word Stories (Or not?!) It’s pretty daunting to write an 80 word story, if you’re just given the task. But it’s quite easy once you get started. I began with an idea, and that’s helpful. Then I wrote it down and saw how it turned out. It’s also useful to type it up on a computer, because I used wordcount. No big surprise when it wasn’t exactly 80 words, so I edited it until it was exactly 80 words. Charlotte

  4. I started my story from characters then passed to settings so I had an image in my mind so I could start my story but before that I did the introduction to start with . The thing that made my story hard was that it had to be exactly 80 words but it was a hard job.The good thing is that when you do your work in a computer you can save it and come back to it. And I finished it. Ilayda HOW TO WRITE AN EIGHTY WORD STORY Now if you have decided to write an eighty word story. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You just passed the first test; determination to start. Now you should just imagine yourself on a blank canvas. Now think of what is going on. For example: a treasure hunt, a catastrophic event, a war, ETC. Who is your character? Give him/her a different accent. CONGATULATIONS!!! You passed another three tests. Now let your heart out in this story. REMEMBER though, only eighty words. Alex

  5. When you think of writing a story you might think it’s easy or hard, it’s your choice for me it was hard! When you write a story you have to use your imagination, you have to be creative with everything you write. First you have to choose the characters then the setting and the climax and what is going to happen. What I thought was hardest was to create vivid description, for me the quality mattered most. It has to be interesting. The fraises have to flow in your pages. But what I thought was a challenge, not when I generally write but my biggest was to make it 80 words. The writing has to be short and interesting in the same time! So I thought for a long time about these stories. I wrote 3: the man in the mist, treasure hunt and the search for paradise. My best choice was treasure hunt. It was the second story I created. Karin
