  5. The Challenge GIVEN • Limited resources of time and money AND • A desire to support the Scottish Executive’s priority of “growing the economy and developing the potential of Scotland’s citizens”

  6. The Challenge • How do you cater for the vast majority of undergraduates who do not as a matter of (accredited!) course get exposure to enterprise and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills development?

  7. The Enterprise Gym™ Solution • Provide as a central resource • …attractive non-accredited ENEKNSD learning opportunities that students can take up according to their time availablity, interest and aims

The Enterprise Gym™ Solution • “…to improve the self–reliance and employability of students by promoting an awareness of and an interest in business enterprise and helpingto develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills commensurate with that interest through the provision of a dynamic, integrated, community-based learning environment.”

TEG Academic Supervisory Group • Meets 2 or 3 times a year • Identifies how best to promote TEG to students within their faculty (which classes, when, who n how?????) • “Customise” the learning apparatus • Get feedback from students and receive feedback from TEG db • Cross-disciplinary research opportunities

Conclusion • TEG offers a flexible, multiple levels of participation vehicle for the delivery of non-accredited ENEKNSD opportunities • In order to realise the fullest benefits for our students from TEG, Faculties and TEG require to be “coupled” at the Steering Group level. • …names to K.Z.Edward@dundee.ac.uk!!
