  2. About Impressionism Impressionists created their own unique style of paintings! Impressionism began in France during the 1800’s. Impressionism started in France and moved through Europe and into the United States. The art and style was completely different then what people usually painted, so people didn’t really like it at first.

  3. Impressionism In their paintings, artists highlighted angles of light and painted reflections in the water. The paintings were usually of people, landscapes or historical events. Most impressionists enjoyed making their art outside in their garden. They used short brush strokes, and apply the paint thickly to create the idea of the subject.

  4. Some Famous Impressionists There are many impressionists but the most common famous impressionists are: Pierre Auguste Renoir Camille Pissarro Alfred Sisley Berthe Morisot Armand Guillaumin Frederic Bazille
