Investigating Bounce Height: Does Drop Height Affect Bounce Performance?

This experiment explores the relationship between the drop height of various balls (basketball, tennis ball, and soccer ball) and their resulting bounce height. Using a standardized drop height of 30, 40, and 50 inches, we recorded the bounce heights of each ball to determine if there is a proportional increase in bounce height corresponding to the drop height. Our findings suggest that the drop height significantly influences the bounce height, demonstrating a direct relationship.

  5. Hypothesis • The bounce height is directly proportional to the drop height, that is the higher is the drop .

  6. Materials • B Ball(basketball) • T Ball(Tennis ball) • S Ball(soccer ball) • Tape Measure

  7. Procedures • Drop the basket ball, Tennis ball, and soccer ball in any order from 30 inches high then record it on a sheet paper • Drop the basket ball, Tennis ball, and soccer ball in any order from 40 inches high then record it on a sheet of paper • Drop the basket ball, Tennis ball, and soccer ball in any order from 50 inches high then record it on a sheet of paper

  8. Conclusion • Yes because each time me and Jason Parada dropped a ball from a higher point it always bounce higher
