After many years of use, I decided to upgrade my old computer for a more convenient laptop. Instead of discarding it, I opted to donate it to someone in need. However, before doing so, I realized it was crucial to physically destroy the hard disk to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information like credit card numbers and personal data. This action not only protects my privacy but ensures that the new owner cannot retrieve my information. By donating instead of throwing it away, I also contribute to environmental sustainability.
E N D
This computer had been with me for a long time. And, now, it looked old and I had lost my interest on it. I wish to buy a laptop which I believe will be more convenient to me. But, the computer still can function well. Therefore, I decided give to someone who really needed it instead of throwing it away.
Before that, I have to do something before donating the old computer to the others. Bingo! That’s right! That is to physically destroy the hard disk.
I am ready!!
It is vital to do so in order to protect our private stuffs like credit card numbers, saving account information, tax stuff and so on which can be used by the identity theft. Furthermore, new owner would not be able to retrieve our sensitive contents in the hard disk.
After destroying all those hard disks, I can now safely pass the old and unwanted computer to the others. By doing this, I help to save the environment directly besides being able to help others.
HAPPY ENDING !
