  3. Fit for Life • Christina Dawson • Room 209 • Items to note: • Students lose 10 pts per day for not dressing and 10 pts per day for not participating • Lost locks cost $6

  4. English • Sarah Robinson • Room 201 • Reading Requirements per quarter: • 1000 for general ed • 1300 for HA

  5. English • Kari Serak • Room 202 • We are excited to have Mrs. Serak at BWMS • Reading Requirements per quarter: • 1000 for general education classes

  6. Read 180 • Alyssa Huffman • Room 213 • Miss Huffman will be available in her room this evening.

  7. Math • Ellen Poisel • Room 204 • Mrs. Poisel will be teaching Algebra I and Geometry

  8. Math • Jon Chastain • Room 307 • Team 8-1 teacher • Mr. Chastain will be teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra to some of our 8-2 students.

  9. Math Lab • Chaz Bear • Room 210 • Mr. Bear will not be available this evening. Please contact him via e-mail with any questions or concerns.

  10. Science • Maria McGill • Room 205 • Learn science through hands-on activities, projects, and fun demonstrations.

  11. U.S. History • Randy Ross • Room 213 • We are excited to have Mr. Ross as a part of team 8-2 this 08-09 school year.

  12. Special Education • Ramona Price • Room 302 • Ms. Price will be available in her classroom this evening.

  13. HomeworkPolicy • Students are allowed one late assignment per quarter, per class. • Make Up Work • It is the student’s responsibility to retrieve and complete work missed during the absence. • Student’s will have the number of days absent to make up missed work.

  14. Webpage • Please visit our webpages • Teachers maintain class webpages with assignments and information that students will need for the class. • You can also find: • upcoming information about team activities. • advisory schedule. • lots of helpful information.

  15. Passport • Students should be recording assignments daily. • This is an excellent place to start if students have missing assignments. • “But I don’t have any homework.” -- check Passport or our webpages. • Students should be reading at home daily.

  16. ISTEP • Taken in September and March • Sign up with Miss. Dawson to bring healthy ISTEP snacks • Please encourage your child to get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast.

  17. Midterms • ALL midterms will need to be signed and returned to homeroom teachers.

  18. Contacting Us • Email is the easiest way to contact us. • you may get “spammed” the first time. • place name of student in subject line. • Voice mail is also a possibility. • We will do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.

  19. Purple Press • The Purple Press is a report that is sent out every Friday to parent e-mail addresses. • It provided various sources of useful information such as team activities, athletic events, and school happenings.
