  1. W.B. TRAVIS HIGH SCHOOL 1211 E.OLTORF AUSTIN,TEXAS 78704 SEPTEMBER 2 ,2012 Dear Rebel Parents, Happy start to a new school year of 2012-13.The Travis Rebels have been hard at work since August 13 the beginning of two-a-days. We currently have three teams (varsity, jv and freshman). The young men came in great shape as a result of our summer workouts that had over 95% participation among the varsity and jv players. August was a busy time for our coaches we attended coaching school in San Antonio, conducted home visits, and Future Rebel Football Camp which as always was a great success. This year we as staff did something different for our two-a-days we conducted all our practices in the morning from (7-11:30 am) we did this to take advantage of cooler temperatures and allow those young who had other obligations to meet them and allow rest time in the afternoon. We concluded our two-a-days with our annual red/grey scrimmage and parent meeting. It was a pleasure seeing all the support from family and friends. I sensed a lot of fun support and this is always a great start to our football season. I want to thank the our tremendous booster club for providing food and the BELIEVE shirts that your sons received that day. We are in the process of ordering more shirts because we have had a huge request for the shirts. August brought an end to our two-a-days and the start of our season we scrimmaged Del Valle on August 24 they always give a good measuring stick of where we stand at this point before the season begins. Which brings me to what all this preparation is all about the GAMES. We began our season vs the Cedar Creek Eagles in grand fashion with an overwhelming victory by the score 0f 63-7,the JV was also victorious by the score of 32-13.Although the freshman came up short we know the transition for them is slow due to the fact that we a lot of new players learning a new system and getting to know new teammates. I am confident our staff will get these players to unify and come along as the season progresses. I have enclosed along with this letter a calendar of all events that will take place in September. If you have any questions feel free to call or email me anytime. Our website at (austinisd.org) is also a great source to keep up with the football program and what is going on at our school. Thanks for the support and we need all the support as we travel to Lampasas this Friday night kickoff at 7:30. As always I leave you with this thought”Oncea Rebel always a Rebel.” “BELIEVE” SINCERELY, ARMANDO JACINTO HEAD FOOTBALL COACH/ATHLETIC COORDINATOR W.B.TRAVIS HIGH SCHOOL (512)414-7738 OFFICE (254)230-7353 CELL REBEL FOOTBALL MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TRAVIS REBELS FOOTBALL
