KISD Graduation Requirements: • 26 credits to include: • English (4 credits) • Mathematics (4 credits) (Alg. 1, Geom., Alg. 2, and 4th math) • Science (4 credits) (Biology, Physical Science: IPC, Chemistry or Physics, 2 additional sciences) • Social Studies (4 credits) (W. Geog., W. History, US History, Govt. & Econ.) • 2 credits of World Languages • 1 credit of Fine Arts • 1 credit of Physical Education • ½ credit of 21st Century Skills • 5 ½ credits of Electives

Request a Transcript: • Go to KISD website – www.kellerisd.net • Under the ‘Students/Families’ tab, select ‘Resources’ • Select ‘Transcripts/Records’ • Click link at center of page ‘Click here to order your transcripts & student records! • Follow the instructions on the left side of the page. • There is a $4.00 processing fee each time you request transcript/s • The first two transcripts are free in high school • It will save you money to order several at a time • You will need to look up the addresses for your colleges in order to input the shipping addresses • If you have any questions, please contact Scribsoft Technical Support at (877)287-6512.

Letters of Recommendation: • You may ask a teacher, coach, or a counselor for a letter • Most colleges do not want more than 2 letters • Some colleges do not require letters of recommendations • (check your college’s application requirements) • A Senior Profile Package is available in the counseling office. • Complete the packet and give it to the recommender at least 2 weeks before the letter is due. • Attach a resume or list of your activities, awards, and community service • Think carefully about the 6 adjectives to describe yourself • Include challenges, hardships, or special circumstances that you have had to overcome This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA-NC

CollegeApplications & Deadlines: • October 15 – Priority Deadline to be considered for Scholarships • (UT & A & M) • November 1 – Priority Deadline for Texas Tech • November 15 – Priority Deadline for Texas State • December 1 – Final Deadline for UT and Texas A & M (all materials must be there by this deadline) • February 1 – OU Deadline • March 1 – Priority Deadline for many area colleges, including University of North Texas and Tarleton (Check deadlines for individual colleges.) • March 15 – FAFSA Deadline (Financial Aid)

  13. College Scholarships: • College Scholarships – Most public Texas schools use a separate tab on Apply Texas that should be filled out with the college applications. Check your college websites for additional scholarships. • Scholarships from the area will be posted on Counselor’s Corner in the Scholarships section • Scholarships.org – CHS pays for this service. It’s posted on Counselor’s Corner.
