WG#5 – Data Sharing and Standards Purpose: To develop and promote clear and consistent standards, guidelines and procedures for the collection, access and sharing of data andinformation between the Boards and clients. WG5 - Activities • 9 or 10 group meetings to date • Implemented working group websites • Initiated analysis of practices, procedures and guidelines • Will present key findings / issues / recommendations in Interim Paper • Drafted GIS Submission Guidelines • (to be included in guides to completing land use and water licence applications) • Working towards shared water quality and water use database • Involves standards for design of SNP and Annual Water Use Report within water licences, standard report templates (SNP and Annual), online database and mapping components • Must coordinate with NWT Waters Strategy, LUDS and MGP initiatives WG5 Data Standards and Sharing

WG5 – Additional discussions • Shared online registry, application lists and maps • GLWB, SLWB, staff and administrator procedures guide • Websites and other online services • Electronic document submission –procedures and guidelines • Electronic distribution of items for review • GIS sharing (online?) • Online application extent mapping tool • MGP Automated Application Processing System • NWT Environmental Monitoring Portal • NWT Waters Strategy / WaterWise WG5 Data Standards and Sharing

  5. WG5 - Budget Budget (2008 fiscal): Proposed Budget- 2009: Actual Expenditures: ~$7000 Consultant requirements include:-SNP / Annual Report work-Website Enhancements-Possible investments in MGP artIMS and/or LUDS application mapping website WG5 Data Standards and Sharing

WG5 – August Deliverables and DecisionS • Updated WG5 Terms of Reference • Key Findings/ Issues/ Recommendations Paper and the recommendations it includes • Shared online registry actively used by 4 Boards • Registry procedures for staff • GIS Submission Guidelines • Plan for action on Water Use / Water Quality IMS • Standards for SNP and Annual WL Report design (both for ROs designing WL/SNP and for companies producing reports) • Recommendations/ updates regarding MGP IMS and Online application mapping tool WG5 Data Standards and Sharing
