  34. FAQ for Slot SBC – General • Is PICMG 1.3 board compatible with PICMG 1.0? • Ans: Owing to the golden figure definition is different. So the 1.3 CPU board can’t be used in 1.0 backplane. • May PCE-7000 series CPU board be used on PCE-5Bxx series backplane? • Ans: We strongly recommend PCE-7000 is used on PCE-7Bxx and PCE-5000 is used on PCE-5Bxx, this combination is completely verified. However in some special situation, PCE-7000 also could be used on PCE-5Bxx. If you want to deliver this combination to customer, please contact with ACL AE/PM for confirmation. • May I use the commercial CPU cooler on slot SBC? • Ans: Most IPC operates in the crucial environment, the commercial cooler might damage easily. We suggest user chooses Advantech verified CPU cooler for slot SBC. Please refer to each CPU board’s datasheet for cooler ordering information which also lists the recommended CPU’s part number. • What is product lifecycle policy of slot SBC? • Ans: We promise the product has 5 years life time since the 1st version(ex:PCE-5120VG-00A1E) phase in. For the revision product (ex:PCE-5120VG-00A2E), we commit 3 years life time since phase in. For specific product’s EOL plan, please contact with local PSM. • What is the EOL policy of slot SBC? • Ans: Slot SBC division will issue EOL notice 6 months before the phase out day. The last buy day is 3 months after the phase out day. The last shipment is 3 months after the last buy day. • How could I know the product life’s information ? • Ans: ACL marketing team will issue eNew letter bi-weekly which includes product’s information , please contact your regional Marketing person for getting this information.
