Usted • Means “you” • Is only used with a person • who is in a position of respect such as a doctor • an elderly person • a person you are meeting for the first time. • used with a person who you would call Mr. or Mrs. Or holds a title. • It is singular– used for only one person. • Usted is abbreviated Ud. but pronounced usted.
