HOW IT WORKS • Students submit applications to employers on-line through Symplicity • To submit an application to on an employer, students must • Read the instructions • Login to Symplicity • Create a profile if haven’t already created one • Review the list of employers and hiring criteria • Submit application materials to the employers whose criteria you meet according to instructions • If you need a Symplicity username/password please email the CSO at law-oci@luc.edu OCI Nuts & Bolts Program

  8. RESUME COLLECT EMPLOYERS • Some employers do not come to campus. Rather, they ask us to collect resumes for them and they contact students directly to schedule interviews • Starting check Symplicity to see which employers are participating in Resume Collect and to determine which employers’ hiring criteria you meet • You will be asked to upload your application materials to Symplicity • Different employers ask for different documents (transcripts, cover letters, etc. – only submit what they ask for) • Due dates for submission of applications materials will vary so check Symplicity often • Resume Collect employers will be added as they contact us. Be as flexible as possible • Schedule a mock interview with your counselor prior to your call-back interview OCI Nuts & Bolts Program

  13. OCI – Not Only Way To Find A Job • Go beyond OCI • Reach out to other firms/employers in mid-August. • Many firms that do not participate in OCI want students to apply directly to them • To research employers, use the following resources: • Nalpdirectory.com, 4 or More List of Law Firms, Employer websites; Martindale.com; LinkedIn • Do not put all of your eggs in the OCI basket.
