9th Grade Course Registration for the 2012-2013 School Year at Bailey Middle School

Welcome to the 9th-grade registration process for the 2012-2013 academic year at Bailey Middle School! You are required to choose 8 classes along with 3 alternate options. Please note that AP courses are at a college level and may require about 2 hours of homework each night. Your final grades will impact your transcript, so it’s important to maintain a strong work ethic. We have various courses available in subjects including Math, English, Social Studies, and Science.   1. High School Registration 2012-2013 Mrs. Ackermann Bailey Middle School

  2. 9th grade Registration • Choose 8 classes and 3 ALTERNATES • AP Courses are COLLEGE LEVEL and REQUIRE ~2 hours of homework each night • All grades will be on your transcript- many students wish they had a better work ethic freshman year

  3. Courses • MATH: Algebra I now has 30% of Algebra II in Algebra 1 course Foundations/ Algebra I- C or Below, Want a review in Math before Algebra I Algebra I- Low B’s High C’s Algebra I Honors- A’s High B’s (more output) Geometry- Have had Algebra Geometry Honors- A’s and High B’s

  4. Courses Cont: • English Foundations and Eng. I- C or Below and Level 2 or Below English I- Level 3, Low B- High C Honors English I- High 3 or 4, A or B Literacy internship- for students who fail 1st quarter Social Studies: World History- Low B and below World History Honors- A or B

  5. Courses Cont. • Science- • Earth/ Environmental- Standard • Honors Earth- Strong in Science but do not want to take AP earth Sophomore year • Honors Bio – EOG Level 4, Plan on Taking AP Earth Enviro.
