They needed to bring supplies with them to keep them alive. The pioneers had a schedule that they had to follow each day. Those who made it to Oregon had a very significant life! The problems on the trail were- Cholera, a very deadly disease, bad weather, mostly thunder storms and hard rain, the wagon didn’t have any safety features so if a child tripped under the wagon it was mostly death. The last, problem was crossing river. Most people drowned. Those who didn’t were usually fleeced. The pioneers brought a lot of supplies with them to keep them alive. They brought food, tools, activities you could do on the trail and home items such as dolls and toys. The pioneers had a very detailed schedule. They would wake up very early. Eat breakfast and head out. Then they would stop for lunch and a break. Finally after lunch they would head out for the last time for the last until it was night and it was nighttime.
