Past participles describe a noun that has received the action of that verb. • To form the past participle of a regular verb, drop the infinitive ending and add –ado to –ar verbs or –idoto an –er or –ir verb.

Participial clauses • Past participles can also form participial clauses that tell how, when, or why. The agree in gender and number with the noun being referred to. • Terminadala gira, regresamos al hotel. • Since the tour had ended, we returned to the hotel.
