  3. Johann was born into a poor family on this farm below. He was the only son followed after two sisters. By the age of 11 he had accomplished everything there is to know at his local school and took his education to a school far away, Leipnik School . After studying there one year, he made his way to Troppau High School where he finished a six year course in 1840 with high honors. 1841 he enrolled at the Philosophical Institute at Olmütz, after Two years at the Institute he wasn’t sure of the career he wanted and join St. Thomas Monastery in Brunn, Austria. In 1843, Johann was accepted as a trial member at the monastery, and he took his new name, Gregor. In 1848, Mendel was assigned as a priest but , reassigned to a high school teaching position, not able to pass the teaching exam, recommended he spent two years at the University of Vienna to study mathematics and biology. Two years later he again attempted the state certification examination. Mendel became quite ill, and he withdrew. Mendel returned to teaching part-time in 1856.

  4. Mendel discovered that if you cross bread two things that the dominate one will have a recessive gene. The smooth and yellow pea plant bread with a wrinkly and green pea plant, the yellow is dominate and all the out comes were round and yellow. In the second generation know as f2 there is a green wrinkly pea plant. Mendel discovered how genes skip generations by the dominate and recessive genes.
