  7. The Perfect Conclusion Put the following notes on page 62 of your notebook. Title it, “Conclusion Notes” **Don’t forget to update your Table of Contents!

  8. Conclusion Notes • Can be the hardest part of your paper to write • However… • It leaves a lasting impression on your reader. • It should be the best part of your paper!

  9. Conclusion Notes • Reminds the reader of your thesis • Effectively wraps up your paper • Leaves a lasting impression on your reader

  10. Conclusion Notes Some Suggestions … • Hear my voice in your head asking you, “SO WHAT?!” and make sure that your conclusion answers that question. • Look to the future or pose a question. • Give your reader something BIGGER to think about.

  11. Conclusion Notes Things NOT to do … • Rewriting your thesis word for word • Introducing new topics • Restating your topics in a boring, unoriginal way • zZZzzZZzzzz

  12. Introduction Notes Remember my essay?! Here’s my conclusion: As evident, Ms. Park’s 10th grade English class is clearly the best English class at TBA. They not only demonstrate their eagerness to learn on a daily basis, but also have passionate opinions and intriguing ideas. In future years, as Ms. Park teaches new classes of 10th graders, she will be able to apply what she has learned from this fantastic group of individuals.

  13. Homework Write a conclusion for your essay. I would prefer it typed and double spaced. If you hand write it, make sure you only write on every other line.

  14. You have the rest of the period to … Make your edits. Those of you who sent me new stuff over the past couple of days should have an email from me with your edits attached. Please take this time to open that email, DL the edits and start crackin. If you have not finished your outlines or intro paragraphs yet, FINISH THEM NOW!
