Prayer Shawls Several Ono/Plum City and Maiden Rock Church members are working to provide comfort for many people.  They are making warm blankets or wraps for those needing comfort and warmth.  They meet once a month to create“ prayer shawls" for community members and others.   Donna Hoyt started the group with information from a family member who was involved in making shawls in the Elmwood area.  With the help of Pastor Shannon, our ladies began knitting and crocheting these beautiful, warm shawls for babies, people grieving, those in poor health or others brought to their attention.  They are beginning their third year making these lovely gifts.  The group includes: Donna Hoyt, Pastor Shannon, Marlene Baker, Merle Sjostrom, Lynette Traynor and Evelyn Johnson.  If you would like to help them, call Pastor Shannon.   Prayer Shawls have been around for hundreds of years and symbolize shelter, peace and spiritual sustenance.  A new movement began in 1998, and has become an international cause.  As Marlene said: "The presentation of a shawl enriches the giver as well as the receiver."  Lots of shawls have been made lately and a box full at Ono is waiting to warm someone's heart.  Give Pastor or a member a call if you know someone in need of love and prayers, or celebrating a baptism or special event in their lives.  Christmas Eve Worship Celebrate the Birth of Jesus Candle Light Service 4:30 Maiden Rock 7:00 Ono-Plum City Memorial Letter To: Members of Ono-Plum City UMC, The enclosed check if for your church and ministry in memory of my brothers, Kenneth and Howard Dietzler.
