  3. Today’s Overview • What are the characteristics of the teaching / learning approach which contributed to students developing self-managed learning capabilities?

  4. Background of the Project • The project aimed at developing and evaluating a course addressed to a large class of first-year students in order to establish the framework for practice in Physiotherapy as well as to develop knowledge and skills in physical assessment and exercise.

  5. Objectives of the Project • To use peer- and self-assessment (PA, SA) as the main driving force for students’ self-directed learning. • To use various modes of teaching (WEB, CAI/CAL, laboratory and fieldwork sessions, classroom lectures and tutorials) to integrate the knowledge acquired in concurrent courses.

  6. Objectives of the Project • To facilitate active learning processes by providing support for learning (chat lines, web forum, knowledge testing, online evaluation) • To provide an opportunity for the students to apply the principles of physiotherapy practice during field work session

  7. Objectives of the Project • To evaluate the impact and/or outcomes of an integrated teaching approach and peer- and self-assessment in professional education • To examine the 2 challenges to professional education addressed by this project
