  2. August 22, 2011 Directions: Write the sentence on your paper in ink. Label the parts of speech. Every word is a part of speech so they should all be labeled. Label what kind of verb and conjunction. Their team will practice after school.

Answers • Their = possessive pronoun • team = concrete noun • will = helping verb • practice = action verb • after = preposition • school = concrete noun • Notes: • There = demonstrative pronoun (placement) • They’re = contraction – they + are • Their = possessive pronoun (whose is it?) • Prepositions = must be part of a prepositional phrase • Helping verbs are only helping if there is another verb present
