Carmel (18) • Stole Naboth’s Vineyard (21) • Won Victory Over Syria (20:13-29) • Spared & Made Peace with Ben-Hadad (20:34) • League with Judah against Syria (22:4)

  5. Ben-Hadad: King of Syria • Wicked Idolater • Drunkard (1 Kgs. 20:12, 16) • Thief (1 Kgs. 20:6) • Adulterer (1 Kgs. 20:5) • Liar, Truce-breaker (20:34) • Appointed by God for Destruction (20:42) • Used by God to Punish Ahab (22:31-42)

Jehoshaphat Joins With Ahab • Strategy of Jehoshaphat: • Two stronger than one • Israel a buffer nation between Syria & Judah • Rather fight on someone else’s land • Overconfident • Pride • Strategy of Ahab: • Knew of God’s judgment against him • Knew of Judah’s success • Hoped God would be with Judah & he would benefit.

  7. Lessons • Good should never join hands with the wicked (2 Chron. 19:2)! • Cannot Mock God (Gal. 6:7)! • Trust God at All Times (Prov. 3:5-6)! He who believes and is baptized will be saved… (Mk. 16:16) “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”(Acts 2:37-38)
