A worldwide service • IECEE Conformity Assessment System operates Certification Body Scheme (IECEE CB Scheme) for international test certification of electrical products • FSS is a worldwide service ensuring particular products are manufactured according to applicable terms/requirements (quality, reliability, consistency of manufactured products)

  3. Why do FSS? • Global demand for product certification is growing • Manufacturers can save costs by avoiding multiple surveillance visits from different certification bodies • Aim: 1 visit and 1 Factory Surveillance Report (FSR) accepted by all parties concerned

  4. Advantages of FSS • Worldwide service • Reduction/possible avoidance of multiple factory surveillance visits by different authorities and inspectors

  5. Who needs to see the Factory Surveillance Report? • NCBs for their issuance/maintenance of product certification • Authorities for their issuance of permission to import goods • Customers as evidence of controlled/monitored production • Used as evidence of production line tests in case of complaints/claims
