For many years Kenya garnered attention for stability and economic development; however, the corrupt government, under the control of Daniel Arap-Moi, enriched only a small minority. To the West Kenya largely remains a land of exotic animals and marathoners, not a nation struggling to create a sense of nationalism among competing ethnic groups.
