Purpose • Identify the varying themes, ideas, and topics present in diverging Cinderella stories • Differences in theme etc. will be delivered to the class during a 15 minute presentation complete with either a: • Powerpoint • Prezi • Photostory • As a class, we will then analyze and discuss the differences before watching Ever After

  3. Groups • Perrault/Grimm • Lee • African/Chinese/Native American

  4. Topics for exploration • Cinderella’s innocence or guilt concerning treatment • Cinderella’s passive or active nature • Sibling rivalry • Role of father • Rules regarding ball (midnight) • Levels of violence • Role of fairy godmother (or lack thereof) • Cinderella’s relationship with prince • Characterization of prince • Function of magic • Role of mother • Ending
