  1. WP5 Synthesis, recommendations and definingof the SRA Karel Charvat, Sarka Horakova, Ota Cerba WirelessInfo

  2. What are AgriXchange objectives • establishing a platform on data exchange in agriculture in the EU; • developing a reference framework for interoperability of data exchange; • identifying the main challenges for harmonizing data exchange.

  3. Establishing a platform on data exchange • What is platform: • Common space • Community • More complicated task is second point – to build community • Common space is only some form of support for community building

  4. Establishing a platform on data exchange • Establishing a platform is some way of marketing • We need attractive content • We need find community • We need define methods, how to support pull and push of information • We need attractive design

  5. Attractive content • Presented clear vision of project (here is my doubt with white paper and Cologne declaration – I waited on contribution from Future farm, it seems, that we have finalize it without support from FF) • To prepare nice presentation from WP2 analysis – probably better to present some parts and some comparison in form of Web presentation, then only downloadable documents

  6. Attractive content • Prepare in attractive form some first documents about reference framework

  7. Existing communities • Efita Newsletter Users • User groups on different social networks (mainly professional networks), I personally could recommend LinkedIn – example of groups Agriculture, AGRO 2.0, • CAPIG, EFITA, Farming in the Cloud, IT Infrastructure for Agriculture 2.0, Precision Agriculture , WCCA/EFITA 2011

  8. Pull and push of information • Pull methods – users use for example our RSS. It require, that our platform is already well developed. • In current status we need use push methods, where we will try to distribute information into the direction to different network • We can use EFITA newsletter and different social networks

  9. Usage Social Networks • Establish own groups for example on LinkedIn • Use tools of group to invite friends • Use such tools like RSS to distribute information directly from platform to social network • Distribute information from platform to groups managed by others

  10. How to distribute information to groups • Inserting information into pages • Implement tools on platform for automatisation

  11. Inserting information into pages

  12. Tools supporting push of informtion

  13. Metadata in searchable form • In form of plugin for search and discovery of metadata

  14. Metadata in searchable form

  15. Attractive design • Classical like OGC or W3C • Social Networks Based – ICT Ensure, Habitats Social Network

  16. OGC

  17. W3C

  18. ICT ensure

  19. Habitats Social Network

  20. Reference framework for interoperability of data exchange • What is reference framework – methodology and example how to define standards • It is good to look on some best practicies • For example project Orchestra promote Reference Model for Open Distributed Processes (RM-ODP described in ISO/IEC 10746-1), which is now used as standard in OGC but in most EC projects in SDI

  21. RM-ODP • Design is divided into five parts so called viewpoints • The enterprise viewpoint, which focuses on the purpose, scope and policies for the system. It describes the business requirements and how to meet them. It is based on user scenarios and user cases • The information viewpoint, focuses on the semantics of the information and the information processing performed. It describes the information managed by the system and the structure and content type of the supporting data. This viewpoint is related to WP3, where data and metadata models are defined. Information viewpoint extended these models and analyse also necessary operation

  22. RM ODP

  23. RM-ODP • The computational provide functional decomposition on the system into objects which interact at interfaces. It describes the functionality provided by the system and its functional decomposition. • The engineering viewpoint focuses on the mechanisms and functions required to support distributed interactions between objects in the system. It describes the distribution of processing performed by the system to manage the information and provide the functionality. • The technology viewpoint focuses on the choice of technology of the system. It describes the technologies chosen to provide the processing, functionality and presentation of information. In principle only this viewpoint is platform dependent. In our architecture design in this first document we will analyse potential components for implementation. In second version of document delivered in Month 15 concrete tools for single pilots will be defined.

  24. Identifying the main challenges for harmonizing data exchange. • Work was done, we need now prepare attractive short presentation and put this presentation on platform

  25. What we need prepare for Praha • ASAP finalize Cologne declaration and White Paper and start publish discussion about them using Social Networks (me) • On the base of this prepare some strategic document for Praha (me)

  26. What we need prepare for Praha • To realy start platform before Praha with existing community. Platform has to be presented in Praha

  27. What we need prepare for Praha • To have reference framework, which could be discussed in Praha
