  4. How this all got started… Residents of North Tustin were not notified that their zip code was expanded to include Santa Ana. This change was enacted despite concerns regarding the general confusion that would arise and the adverse impacts to community identity and property values expressed by existing 92705 North Tustin area residents. • On July 1, 1995 the Postal Service expanded  92705 without notification to its residents and added sections of the city of Santa Ana.   • There were 4800 addresses formerly 92701 that were added to 92705 • They did this to provide better mail service to about 700 businesses located near the North Grand Ave post office. 15. PostalService Degradation Restore our Identity

  16. 92705 is one of the largest Zip Codes in Orange County Service delivery has deteriorated over the years due to population growth, the very large territory that 92705 covers and the increased traffic between the distance from the Grand Ave post office and the North Tustin community Restore our Identity • Mis-delivered Mail • Late Mail The 92705 area encompasses over 11 square miles, close to 5,000 businesses and more than 15,000 housing units, making it among the largest zip codes in the county and a good candidate for the reassignment we propose.

  17. Recommended Solutions Post Office Acceptance of • Dedicated Zip Code • New Name Brand our unique community Accomplishing all of the above will begin the process of proactively branding our unique community and further promote growth Restore our Identity

  18. Why We Also Need a New Name The post office currently recognizes three names for our area • Data providers store zip code and location name in separate fields. • A zip code change alone will leave the Santa Ana / North Tustin reference unchanged. • Changing the Zip without A NEW NAME will not fix the confusion we currently experience. POST OFFICE DATABASE Restore our Identity It is a lot of effort to change a zip code, changing the name at the same time will not entail additional effort. Doing so in the future will require a lot of extra work for everyone.

  19. Tustin Hills Citrus Heights Skyline Ranch Restore our Identity One name will better identify our community while preserving the unique nature of our individual neighborhoods This will eliminate a lot of confusion
