  1. 中文二 F Block Course Objectives • Revisit and master Chinese Pinyin and Character Writing systems • Revisitand master basic classroom expressions and language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) learned from previous studies in the contexts of Greetings, Families, Dates & Time, Hobbies and Visiting Friends • Develop 听说读写language skills and cultural understanding in the context of: • Making Appointment 约会 • Studying Chinese • School Life • Shopping • Transportation

Among 56 ethnics, Han (汉 hàn人) constitutes92% of Chinese • 中文 – the oldest prevailed language in the world • 秦始皇qínshǐhuáng, the first emperor of a unified China in 221 BCE, he unified the language. • 中文 汉语 is designated national language • In the1950's, China decided to reform the Chinese writing system. They simplified the shapes of some of the more complex characters.
