This study focuses on the item analysis of the English test designed by teachers for seventh-grade students at SMP N 12 Semarang during the 2008/2009 academic year. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the test in assessing students' English language skills and provides insights into test construction and item validity. Through this analysis, recommendations for improving language assessment practices in junior high schools are proposed, highlighting the importance of reliable testing in educational settings.
